MEETING MINUTES

Marty Glenn opened the meeting at 7:00 pm after the club enjoyed some free wings that were provided by Hooters. They will also be providing them at all of our monthly meetings.

 

Meeting minutes from the June meeting were approved.

 

Marty went over a couple issues with the Grapevine event about the big bass of the tournament versus the big bass for the year. He also explained my mistake on totaling the weights from the event. All issues were settled.

 

Jeff Lyons gave the financial report and he stated that the club has a total balance of $1915.43 and an available balance of $1127.43. Big bass pot for the year is $380.00. The balance for the Rusty Robbins year end classic is $408.00. Also winning checks were presented to winners of the last month’s event.

 

The club thanked Mike Aaron for getting and putting together a weigh-in tub for club events. It will see its first duty this month. Thanks again Mike!! He will also continue to be the tournament director for the remainder of the season. His cell number in case you have a problem and need to reach him is 214-697-5468.

 

This month we are fishing Bridgeport which has a 14”- 18” slot limit on largemouth bass. Our club also follows the same slot on spotted bass. The length limit for smallmouth bass is 14”. Bob will have everyone’s weigh-in slip at the scale when you weigh-in. Paper all fish within the slot and measure to the closest 1/8”.

 

Drawings were held for pairings for the Bridgeport event this Saturday.  Jason Porter drew the boater/non-boater pairings. There will be 8 boats fishing.

 

The club decided to hold our fun tournament on August 16th at Grapevine Lake. It will be a 3 fish no cull event with rules and partner drawings to be held at the August meeting. Details will be coming soon on the picnic which will be held in conjunction with this event on the 16th of August at the lake. A few volunteers are needed. Jason Porter will be bringing a gas grill for the club to use. Thanks Jason!!

 

The club voted 10-7 in favor of having next months meeting at Hooters.

 

Dave Stallings collected money for this month’s trash fish contest.

 

 

The meeting concluded around 8.15 pm
