FLOWER MOUND BASS CLUB
RUSTY ROBBINS CLASSIC
RULES 2009
- There
will be two separate divisions with two separate winners. A boater
division and a non-boater division.
- The
top 8 (eight) in each division will qualify to fish the classic. This will
mean 16 (sixteen) anglers will qualify to fish.
- Qualification
will be based on the year to date final point standings.
- We
will be counting your top 8 events for the season. You will be allowed to
drop your 2 worst events from the 10 event schedule to get to your top 8
point totals. It is possible to qualify fishing less than 8 events if you
finish well.
- Monthly
meeting points will be counted in the final total as usual, 10 pts. per
meeting attended.
- Final
points will be calculated after the final event in November and the drop
events are removed. This will be the official qualifying point total. Please
keep in mind that YTD POINTS will be kept after each event as usual but
will include all events fished.
- The
winner in the boater division will receive 60% of the tournament fund and
the non-boater winner will receive 40% of the tournament fund. We hope to
also award plaques at the banquet to both winners.
- Parings
for the classic will be determined by the order of finish in each
division. The boater finishing 1st in the final point total and
the non-boater finishing 1st in the final point total will fish
together. 2nd will fish with 2nd, 3rd with
3rd and so on.
- If a
qualifying angler cannot fish then their spot will be awarded to the next
angler in that division and so on until the field is full.
- If
an angler has fished both divisions then you will qualify out of the
division that you have fished the most. If it’s a 4-4 split then you will
qualify out of the division that your best event finish was in.
- The
lake to be used will be by a popular vote to be held at the November
meeting. All members in attendance will choose a lake by secret ballot.
The lake receiving the most votes will be the lake fished for the classic.
A slot lake can be voted for but no paper will be used in this event. You
must follow the slot if a slot lake is chosen. This will cover all species
including spotted bass. The lake being fished in the November tournament
is not eligible as a lake choice for the classic.
- The
lake chosen will be off limits until the morning of the tournament. No
information is allowed to be given to an angler by anyone. You may gather
public information such as maps, internet forums but you are not allowed
to post a request for information or have anyone do this for you. This is
the honor system so please adhere to this rule. We want this to be “A day
on the Lake tournament” Show up, figure
them out and go fish.
- Anyone
violating this or any rule associated will be disqualified from this and
all future club events.
- Tournament
hours will be 7am – 3pm.
- Tournament
will be held November 21, 2009.
- A list
of qualifying anglers and pairings will be posted to the website along
with an email being sent to all members within 48 hours of the final event.
- If
you feel you cannot fish then please let an officer know so we can make
the proper adjustment to the field. Once you have decided not to fish this
cannot be changed.
- Keep
in mind the angler with the most accumulated point total regardless of the
division after the drop events will be “The Angler of the Year. Angler of
the Year and The Rusty Robbins Classic are two separate events even though
they use the same YTD point standings.
- All
Flower Mound Bass Club Tournament rules are to be followed in this event
with the exception of the rules listed above.
