Minutes for August 5, 2008

Marty Glenn opened the meeting at 7:00 pm.

The July minutes were read and approved.

The July tournament at Lake Grapevine was discussed. Although the start time of the tournament was early and still dark, everyone had a good time. Troy Howard won the tournament with 7.87 pounds and also had the big fish of the day with a 3.16 pound largemouth. Jeff Lyons came in second with 6.83 pounds and Doug Powell was third with 6.17 pounds. Jeff Lyons passed out checks to the winners.

The scheduled August tournament at Lake Arlington was discussed. With the lake being much too low for descent fishing, other lake options were discussed. Athens, Bridgeport, Bonham, Lewisville, Weatherford, and Moss were all suggested. A vote was taken with 1 vote for Bridgeport, 2 votes for Moss and 4 votes for Lewisville.

The August tournament will be at Lake Lewisville on Saturday, August 9, from 5 a.m. to

12 p.m. It was decided that pre-fishing would be allowed with no limits on days. Trailering is also acceptable; however, everyone must meet at the Arrowhead Ramp for weigh-in at 12 p.m.

Jeff Lyons gave the financial report stating that the club has an available balance of $734.52.

Drawings were held for pairings for the Lake Lewisville event. Mike Thornton and Paul Russo drew the boater/non-boater pairings.
